# EmojiPainter

> EmojiPainter is the anti-AI way to make digital images: an iOS/iPadOS app (plus a browser painter and macOS companion) where every artwork is painted by hand, emoji by emoji. There is no generate button. Every painting carries the real time it took and the stroke count — hundreds of deliberate human choices that no AI image generator can produce, scrape, or fake. Built by artist-engineer Pascal Sender.

- Paint with emoji brushes on a custom native Metal engine (realtime smudge, opaque/transparent/smudge modes, line/eraser/mirror tools, custom brushes).
- Animate: frame-by-frame (Framer), loops (Animator), and timelapse replays exported as video/GIF.
- AR: paint emoji onto real walls (ARKit + LiDAR, world-anchored, realtime shadows); paint on your own face with a live face mesh.
- Daily challenges: 3 fresh topics per day, the same worldwide, painted against a sprint timer, uploaded to a public gallery.
- Mystery paintings: paint a secret topic; everyone else gets one guess. Correct guesses earn coins for both sides.
- Social: no logins — a device-based passport, profiles with timelines and diaries, follows, karma, a leaderboard.
- 999+ curated mystery topics; community topic submissions and voting.
